Public Interest Litigation

Public Interest Litigation

Erin started her own practice so she could put public service at the center of it. She is committed to litigating cases that advance the public interest, and our public interest cases are as important to her as every other case.

Erin is dedicated to public service outside of her law practice. She served on her local city council for four years and started a PAC to increase the number of women in elected office in Kansas.

In her law practice, Erin has litigated nearly every aspect of women’s reproductive rights in state and federal court and has represented a voting rights group in challenges to restrictive voter ID laws. Civil rights has always been at the forefront of Erin’s practice.

Other representative public interest matters include:

  • Representing physicians in a case before the Kansas Supreme Court that secured women the right to choose under the Kansas Constitution.
  • Representing reproductive rights clinics in a wide-range of matters from representing employees as victims in DOJ FACE Act investigations, to securing protection from stalking orders against anti-abortion extremists, and advising on hiring and firing decisions.
  • Successfully defending a physician who was charged criminally with violating the Kansas abortion statute.
  • Advising clinics on complying with new regulations.
